It’s approximately 5 a.m . I feel somewhat tired and I am listening to Beethoven, String Quartet No. 14, C-sharp minor as I write this .

The story began about 2 months ago but in hindsight it might actually be 2 years ago.

About 2 months ago I saw a quote from Malcolm Gladwell that said “No one who can rise before dawn three hundred sixty days a year fails to make his family rich”. Something about this quote intrigued me but not enough to instantly begin getting up at 5 a.m. as I am not usually a “morning person” .

I posted the quote on Instagram and mentioned being part of the 5 a.m club. Despite an enthusiastic and supportive response from many of my followers, I actually had no real intention to begin getting up at 5 a.m. Or so I thought. After posting the quote and going to bed I spontaneously woke up in the “Middle of the night”…or rather 5 a.m. I was really tired and thought nothing of it and instinctually went back to sleep.

A couple of nights later I was sleeping and was suddenly awakened by a “random” sound going off on my phone. I looked at my phone and it was 5 a.m. I smiled for a moment at the “coincidence” and after a couple of minutes rolled over and went back to sleep. A couple of nights later in the middle of the night a fly was buzzing in my ear and it woke me up.

Yup you guessed it ….5 a.m. This time I didn’t go back to sleep right away. I stayed awake for a few minutes pondering this undeniable coincidence and asking Ok what do I do now. I sat in silence for several minutes and then went back to sleep.

Within the next 2 months all the way up to today I have had at least 30 “random” 5 a.m awakenings that ranged from Guinea pigs, to birds, to strange lights, to a presence in my room, to messages from friends in another country, to flies, to strange phone stuff, to just suddenly waking up. All at 5 A.m……Like clock work. So here I am once again.

This is the longest I have stayed up as I write this . Perhaps I will stay up and discover the fullness of what this invitation has to offer me. I intuitively sense that the initial quote by Malcolm Gladwell is only part of the story. I am completely game for the idea of making my family rich…and I also know there is also more to this “Mysterious” phenomenon. Stay tuned!

P.s. right before I started writing this I opened my email and received an email at 5 a.m that said “Wake up to Wisdom”
